Our John Holland rail team based in the Pilbara on a 2:1 roster is seeking a Communications Technician, to join our signalling and communications team.  John Holland will provide an opportunity for  an entry level candidate to attain certificate  ( UEE20720 Certificate II in Data and Voice Communications)  and field-based mentoring will be provided.

 
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
 

• Termination of communications cabling.
• Installation, configuration and testing of networking equipment.
• Installation of pre-fabricated location cases and equipment rooms.
• Assist in scoping and site audits.

 
About You

 
We are looking for a motivated individual who has excellent communication skills and embodies John Holland’s values – caring, empowering, imaginative and future-focused.
Applicants may have the following relevant systems experience and qualification:

• ACMA Certified or Trade certificate or Diploma in Telecommunications or other related 
• Fibre optic splicing and testing 
• Coax termination and testing 
• Ethernet termination and testing
• DC(12V, 48V) cables termination and testing 
• CCTV Install and testing
• Radio systems knowledge
