SMP Safety Advisor - 9 day fortnight - Bunbury

Our Energy and Resources division is currently delivering a major resources project, and are seeking a first class HSE Advisor to join the team during a period of rapid expansion. This is a site based role, with new camp accommodation provided. The project offers a 9 day fortnight, drive in - drive out from Perth.

As the HSE Advisor you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of all employees on site, and work towards achieving John Holland’s vision of “Zero Harm”.

You will assist the HSE team in delivering this by:

  • Coordinate, implement and manage Safety Systems on site;
  • Advise Project Manager and Supervisors on matters of Health and Safety compliance, as well as statutory requirements;
  • Liaise with the client on HSE matters;
  • Delver site training courses on HSE, including toolbox meetings and safety inductions;
  • Take part in Safety Audits across the site.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Relevant qualifications in health, safety and environment;
  • Experience in a SMP environment (minimum 18 mths) is a pre-requisite to be considered favourably for this position.
  • At least 3 years plus experience in a HSE role within the Mechanical, Structural, Engineering, or Heavy Industrial sectors;
  • A thorough working knowledge of current HSE legislation and best practice;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • You will need to be comfortable working on an operational construction site.
