Building Site Supervisors

Due to continuing growth we are currently seeking experienced Building Site Supervisors to work on a range of metro-based projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction plans.

• Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with agreed safe methods of work.

• Provide planning and programming of labour, plant and equipment in accordance with construction program requirements.

• Supervise and schedule the activities of staff to ensure co-ordination of the construction process.

• Monitor progress and ensure that work quality and techniques are of a high standard.

• Report regularly to the Project Manager on project performance and costs against company objectives.

• Encourage and promote John Holland's vision of 'No Harm' within the workplace.

• Effectively coach and mentor direct and indirect reports.

To be considered for this role you must have:

• Relevant trade qualifications and substantial major capital construction experience with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in building construction.

• Proven leadership and management experience.

• Experience in reviewing design documentation and providing constructive critic.

• Understanding of and ability to implement safe work systems including facilitating pre-start and toolbox meetings.

• Sound computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.

• Competent time management skills.

• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

You will need to build credibility, partnerships and apply rigorous and disciplined approaches, demonstrating your ability to a robust management team, while maintaining a focus on the 'big picture'.
